Sonal Kohli
Sonal Kohli grew up in Delhi and now lives in Washington, D.C.
She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, UK, and a BA in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She has received fellowships from the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Sangam House. Her stories have appeared in Blackbird, Monkeybicycle, The Caravan, and have been shortlisted for the Bristol Short Story Prize 2019 and Fish Short Story Prize 2014.
'The House Next to the Factory', her debut book of interlinked stories, is a BBC Radio 4 'Book at Bedtime'. It was long listed for the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award, and was a Book of the Year for The Hindu, Hindustan Times, and The Wire. Sonal has been profiled on BBC Radio 4's show 'Open Book'.
